The key problem with most freelance marketplaces is the high percentage of randomness whether a client will choose you or not. You can be one of the most talented experts in your field, but if the customer doesn't like the way you responded to their ad, they won't even go to your profile and read examples of your brilliant work.

On average, beginners have a success rate of 1% to 3% in responding to ads. This is shocking and most novice freelancers give up after dozens of unsuccessful responses. However, you can make a lot of money in freelancing, you just need to understand the specifics and learn how to attract the attention of customers.

The problem of unsuccessful responses can be solved in two ways:

1. Use alternative freelancing sites. There are sites, the main concept of which is that it is the customers write to the freelancer, and not vice versa. The most famous and "money" of such sites is Fiverr (if you register using this link, you will get a bonus on withdrawal).

2.Learn to write applications for projects competently. This is not so difficult, but will allow you to greatly increase your profits from earning money on freelancing. You will spend less time monitoring new projects and will work more. This is what we will talk about in this article.

KEY MISTAKES OF BEGINNER FREELANCERS

Let's start from the base. "Good afternoon, my name is Y, I am ready to do job for you for X amount of money, I will do everything in the best way, choose me, please". This, is the standard response to a beginner freelancer's ad.

What's the problem with it?

First, it looks boring, second, it's pathetic. And most likely the customer will quickly run his eyes over this text, do the same with the next 10 similar applications and eventually choose a freelancer who will attract his attention.

Remember, the purpose of your application is not primarily to sell your services to the client (as it may seem), but to interest him in communicating with you. You need to get the person to talk to you and discuss the details of the order.

In face-to-face communication it is much easier to reach an agreement with a person and come to cooperation. In correspondence you are already a real person, not just a random name and a standard text that you can just skip.

What NOT to write in the application:

1.Write your name and specialty. It's already obvious that the designer will not respond to a copywriting ad. And the name is already visible above the text of the application, so this information is just noise that should be removed.

2.Writing the price. In 4 out of 5 cases, the final price differs from the originally stated price - it's usually negotiated in private messages. When you specify the price in advance, you give the customer an additional reason to immediately screen your application. You do not know whether your price will suit him or not, but in personal communication can already agree on a price tag that will suit both.

And even worse, if you specified the price, but did not specify what a person will pay for (we will talk about this a little later).

It is also worth realizing that the customer rarely really understands what volume of work to do to complete the task. He just has in his head the final result (and that is not always), and therefore the price tag specified by the customer, rarely adequate.

3.Enclose a lot of links to their work or call to go to your profile. Each person is lazy to familiarize themselves with dozens of works of dozens of customers - he came to the site that someone did the work for his money and unnecessary not to overwork. You can leave 1-2 examples that maximally correspond to the task, but definitely not more.

HOW TO WRITE THE PERFECT BID

Once we've figured out how NOT to do the RIGHT thing, it's time to look at how to do the RIGHT thing. And the structure of a proper response that will grab customers' attention is 10 points.

1.Greeting. Preferably by the name on the customer's account.

2.Indicate experience in the niche implied by the order.

3.Attach 1 or 2 links to your work in the niche that is related to the order.

4.Use emoji in the first few lines to attract attention. To set the stage, write in LARGE letters. Statistics (or just big numbers) that will catch the attention and impress the customer will also help, for example: my article has gotten 50,000 views, or worked with companies like Google, Vodafone, etc.

5.After presenting yourself, emphasize the order. We write that you have studied the details of the order and are ready to discuss other details in private messages. If the project is urgent, we indicate that we are ready to start as soon as possible. And put 1-2 clarifying questions to increase the likelihood of transition to the lis.

6.Your advantages over other freelancers. Here you can write: your experience, whether you give a guarantee on the order, why you will do the job better than others (your special qualities - education, certificates, etc.).

7.Once again attach examples of work. Ideally, attach one at the beginning and one at the end. Be sure to sign what exactly a person will see by clicking on the link (for example: here is my article, which is in the top on such and such search query).

8.You can add some additional service, such as performing a test task, so that the customer can assess your skills. Especially relevant for beginners who have few quality examples of work.

9.Suggestions for improving the order. If you have done a lot of similar work, you can immediately suggest how to improve the original vision of the customer. The customer may highly appreciate such suggestions.

10.A call to action. Write something like "I suggest to discuss the rest of the details in private messages". If you have done everything right in the previous points, the customer will want to talk to you.

CONCLUSION

Actually, now you know how to become a cool and rich freelancer. It's not that hard, is it? Of course, to achieve real success it is not enough just to write a cool response to the order, you need to develop in your business and improve your skills. However, having a constant flow of orders is a key detail that gives motivation to develop as a specialist. And the main step to this is the right text for the response to the order.

And yet, think about such sites as firer, perhaps they will be the ideal place to work for you.
